Description:


Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) is 3-phase AC high voltage switchgear which is used for the control, measurement, protection and switching of transmission lines. more than 5000 bays have been in service, some exported to Thailand, Equatorial Guinea and other countries.

ZF12B -72.5/126/145 (L) GIS contains major substation equipments, such as circuit breaker, disconnector, earthing switch, voltage transformer, current transformer and surge arrester. All components are three-phase in one closure. In ZF12B, the disconnector and earthing switch combined into 3-working-position type DS/ES to optimize the equipment structure and make it more compact.


Main Features:


  • ZF12B series are equipped with 3-working-position type DS/ES, which has the advantages of compactness, flexible configuration, physically mechanical interlock and high reliability.

  • The mechanism is oil/gas free, simple construction, easy maintenance and reliable operation.

  • The enclosure is made of aluminum alloy to ensure light weight, low temperature-rise and strong anti-corrosion..

  • Double sealing systems are adopted to guarantee high reliability in gas tightness and the annual gas leakage rate is leaa than 0.5%.

  • Excellent insulating, conducting and current carrying performances.

What is the principle of the protection function of gas-insulated switchgear?


Protection Function Principles:

  • GIS equipment is equipped with various protection functions to ensure the safe operation of the power system.

Overcurrent Protection:

  • The overcurrent protection function monitors the current in the circuit using current transformers. When the current exceeds a predefined threshold, the protection device triggers the circuit breaker to trip, cutting off the faulty circuit and preventing damage to the equipment due to overcurrent.

Short-Circuit Protection:

  • The short-circuit protection function quickly detects short-circuit currents when a short-circuit fault occurs in the system and causes the circuit breaker to act rapidly, protecting the power system from damage.

Additional Protection Functions:

  • Other protection functions, such as ground fault protection and overvoltage protection, are also included. These protection functions use appropriate sensors to monitor electrical parameters. Once any abnormality is detected, the protection actions are immediately initiated to ensure the safety of the power system and equipment.
