What are AC Series Motor?
Ac series motor definition
The AC series motor is an improved version of the DC series motor, suitable for operation under alternating current (AC).
Modify requirement
Necessary modifications include reducing eddy currents and increasing the power factor to improve the performance of AC power supplies.
Compensation winding type
Conduction compensated motor
The conductive compensation motor is characterized by a compensation winding in series with the armature, which is located in the stator slot. Its axis is at a 90 degree Angle to the main axis.
Induction compensation type motor
The compensating winding is not connected to the armature circuit of the motor, the transformer action occurs, the armature winding will act as the primary winding of the transformer, and the compensating winding will act as the secondary winding. The current in the compensation winding will be the opposite of the current in the armature winding.
Practical application
Ac series motors are widely used in household appliances, demonstrating the practical advantages of their versatility and design enhancements.
